New Dean for Religious Life
Stanford has found the successor to the Rev. William “Scotty” McLennan Jr., who is stepping down after 14 years as dean for religious life. The Very Rev. Dr. Jane Shaw, who has served as dean of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco since 2010, will take over this fall, becoming the university’s first female spiritual leader. Shaw, an Anglican, earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford and holds advanced degrees from Harvard and Cal.
